PLEASE NOTE: This is not a “print and use right away” kind of product! You will have to do a little customizing to make these items work for you and your students/school. :-)

I am a K-5 media specialist and it seems like every year I’m scrambling to come up with a school-wide reading theme for our annual “March is Reading Month” or "Read Across America". I hope these ideas save you a little bit of time!

The intro letter is EDITABLE. You can see what I used for my buildings, but you can change it to make it work for you. The clip art has been saved as jpegs due to copyright restrictions. You certainly don’t have to use the letterhead I provided. I’ve also included a calendar that we used a couple of years ago that has some ideas you might want to use if you would like to include a school-wide reading calendar. Again, I’ve included a copy of a March calendar that has EDITABLE text for you to use.

The reading coupons are yours to edit as you see fit. You just need to fill in the dates the coupons are due as well as what prizes (if any) you will be offering. We gave our students the opportunity to turn in one coupon each week for the month of March. For each week they turned one in, they received a prize. If they turned in all four coupons they were invited to a popcorn celebration at the end of the month! However, if you have an even better idea, edit away!!

I’ve included suggestions for prizes in the product download. Also, be sure to check out Pinterest for some great bulletin board ideas that go along with this theme. I also included some bookmarks that go along with the theme for you to use.

This product download may be used by the PURCHASER FOR HIS OR HER SCHOOL ONLY. If other schools in your district would like to use this product, please purchase multiple licenses (which are offered at a discount).

Please let me know if you have any questions! I’m happy to help!
