This file contains ten warmup activities in which students over time will construct a field guide of marine animals. At the same time it is a game students play, they try to guess what the animal is as they get more clues.

How it works:
1. Teacher starts the class with an animal of the day warmup. The power points are set up so that first facts about the animal are given (starting with the scientific name), then pictures, and finally videos. The students are guessing out loud what animal's common name is as they write the facts down.

2. After the pictures, the common name pops up with 2-4 videos in which the students can see the animal in action.

3. On the sheet the students will write the common name and glue two pictures of the animal onto that sheet, in essence, creating a field guide sheet for that particular marine animal.

Included in the zip file are 10 2-slide power points, 2 pdf files of pictures for each animal, and blank sheets in which the teacher can print off for students to build their field guide. Each animal of the day takes approximately 20 minutes.
