Your 7-10th grade science students will conduct research on a marine species, and design a creative magazine "for" that species! My students love getting to show off their creativity during this project, and it's a great way to reinforce concepts such as ocean habitats, ecological relationships, and marine ecosystem threats. Marine biology magazines are an ocean of fun!
This download includes a handout for students which describes the requirements of the project, a table for organizing student research, and a grading rubric. This project is appropriate for middle school science students (grades 6-8) or early high school students (9-10). This is a hit with my 9th grade Environmental Science students every year!
