I Need It! Got To Have It! He's The Best! Got To Vote For Him!

Marketing executives are keen observers of their target audience. They know how to make a product enticing, even irresistible! Similarly, political campaign managers observe their target voters, and advertisements prey on the fears of the voters. They either assuage the fears, making the voter feel good about their guy, or point the finger at the opponent, and tear down their opponent in a negative ad.

In a nonpartisan look at political advertising and product advertising, students think about how they are targeted by the advertising world, and how font, color, pictures, slogans, pitch people, and catchy taglines are all designed to stick in the mind of the consumer or voter. A final product allows the students to let their creative juices flow, and integrates art and writing into this project! This project can be conducted as an independent project or a cooperative learning opportunity. My students love this project, and I am confident yours will as well! Happy marketing!
