8 Literacy Centers to go along with your Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations. Each Center includes a cover sheet, directions, materials, recording sheet for accountability, and answer key.
1)Fact or Opinion- Students read a sentence and determine if it is a fact or an opinion. (18 cards)
2)Adverbs - Students read a card with a sentence, and find an adverb card that could be used with that sentence (8 sentences)
3)ABC Order- Students put word cards in alphabetical order (18 words)
4) Making Words - Students use the letters in Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s name to make as many words as possible
5) Simple, Compound, Complex Sentences- Students read the sentences and determine if they are simple, compound, or complex sentences (16 cards)
6)Writing- Students can choose from 8 different writing prompts.
7)Syllables- Students read a word and count the number of syllables and sort the card under the correct header (24 words)
8)Parts of Speech- Students read a sentence, and determine the part of speech of the underlined word (12 sentences)
