Students have an opportunity to make their own connections between Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life and beliefs and the current world in this project.
Students are given a "survival" kit- a plastic bag with seven items (a penny, a Band aid, a cotton ball, 3 M&Ms, a craft eyeball, a rubber band, and a crayon). They are also given a brainstorming page where they can make as many connections as possible between the objects and Martin Luther King's beliefs.
After 10-15 minutes of brainstorming, students are given a paper where they write one sentence for each object.
Check out the PREVIEW. (ALL of the pages are shown!)
