iPad TimeLine unwrAPPed
Celebrate Martin Luther King Day by easily integrating this low-prep iPad® mobile digital device activity into your reading and writing centers or whole group lessons. Students will use the app RWT TimeLine to create a timeline with text and images using either the included QR code nonfiction article, any book about Dr. King, or by watching a free movie on Brain Pop. Packet includes 3 versions of the planning sheet depending on how you want your students to research Dr. King. Also included is a rubric for assessing student work and step-by-step visual direction pages to help your students save photos from the web and create a timeline on the app.
Packet includes everything your students need to complete the project independently:
★ 1 full color step-by-step direction sheet with visuals to help students save images to their camera roll via screenshots.
★ 3 full color step-by-step direction sheets with visuals to help students independently use the app from start to finish.
★ 3 Planning sheets for students to use to plan their timelines.
★ 3 QR codes that direct to websites with student friendly articles and pictures of Dr. King.
★ 1 rubric that can be used to assess the finished project.
Print out the activity pages and distribute to your students. Student sheets include step-by-step directions that tell them exactly how to use the app. The included teacher notes pages will explain exactly which pages to print and how to use them. To save ink, full color direction pages can be projected or printed for smaller groups to share or just printed once and displayed in a center.
I make sure my unwrAPPed packs have everything you need to get started - you do NOT need to know how to use the app yourself!
You will need the free app TimeLine by Read Write Think.
Since my products all utilize free web and app resources, there may be rare times that the technology does not work as planned, which may be out of my control. Please be sure to message me in the Q&A section so I can assist you before leaving feedback. I use all of the apps that I base my packets on frequently and will update products as the apps themselves update.
This project makes a great companion to my Black History unwrAPPed packet found here:
