In this MLK Emergent Reader, we've taken the hopes and dreams of MLK and paired them with repetitive text that reads, "Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. He dreamed of __________".
The last page is an interactive page. It is set up so the kids can draw themselves and an image they dream about.
Images and text include: equality, hope, love, justice, peace, and a better world.
These emergent readers have a cover page that has an area for students to write their names.
There are two stories on each page. There's a black and white version for students to color, and there's also a color version for your guided reading groups.
We hope this emergent reader has your students excited about learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and gaining confidence as new readers!
