Informational text and task cards are combined to create an engaging lesson about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The text-based task cards are directly based on the informational text and can be utilized independently or collaboratively.

The two-page article covers the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. After reading the text, students will be prepared to complete the task cards.
16 text-based task cards are included. Using the task cards, students will have an opportunity to independently or cooperatively interact with the informational text. Students will need access to a dictionary to determine the definitions of several tier-two vocabulary terms. Printing the task cards on cardstock and/or laminating the task cards is recommended for repeated use. An answer key is provided for the task cards.
