-2 copies of Dr. King’s I Have a Dream speech: One copy has key vocabulary terms underlined and the other copy has no terms underlined. The speech has been edited down to meet average reading levels for grades 5-7.
-1 set of task cards: 12 task cards asking comprehension questions about Dr. King’s speech. Cards have a mix of multiple choice and short response questions. A student response sheet and answer key have been included. Skills featured include figurative language, inferences, context clues, compare and contrast, and main idea and supporting details.
-7 worksheets: Worksheets included 2 vocabulary worksheets, summarizing Dr. King’s speech, explaining the importance or significance of Dr. King’s speech to them, drawing or writing what their dreams are for making the work a better place, and an acrostic.
-2 games: 1 fun facts card game providing students with additional information about various civil rights movements in the United States and the I Have a Dream speech. 1 vocabulary matching game featuring 20 words from Dr. King’s speech.
-1 word search using 20 key terms from the I Have a Dream speech.

-4 close reading passages: each passage is 5-6 paragraphs and has to do with MLK. Paragraph numbers are included on each passage so that it resembles what students will see on their standardized test.
-40 comprehension questions: each passage comes with 10 multiple choice questions on two pages. One passage contains multiple choice questions with more than one correct answer to help students practice enhanced standardized test questions. Questions require students to think critically and make LOTS of inferences about what they just read.
-4 answer keys: answer keys have been included with each set of comprehension questions
-1 student response sheet: since many schools have printing limitations and are unable to print 2 pages of questions for every student, a single page student response sheet has been included that can be used with any of the passages.
