I don’t know about you but I have struggled for years coming up with a creative way to teach my students about Martin Luther King Jr. and what he stood for. It is such an important part in our history and deserves to be taught well. It’s hard at an elementary age to talk about some of the struggles and hardships that Martin Luther faced. It’s one we shy away from I think because we are afraid that our little ones won’t understand. I have come to find out that they actually understand more than we give them credit for. The hardships and struggles that Martin Luther faced are still what our students face today. Our students still feel the sting of being labeled, bullied and mistreated by others. Because this is so real with our age level I vowed to really think through my Martin Luther King Jr. study this year and to develop a meaningful way to teach my youngsters. In this packet you will find one way to present it to your students. There are also many other ways to share his message. If you find this packet useful please share on TPT by rating this product. I look forward to seeing your comments and suggestions to make this even better for our students.
