Martin Luther King Jr research activity provides students with information about Dr. King, while allowing them to gather their own understanding of how Dr. King changed our country for the better. Students use their information to create a great hallway or bulletin board display. Best part is? Grammar Boot Camp is also included with this pack!
Looking to boost your students' grammar skills during this back to school season? This program is meant to boost students’ grammar and writing skills, while also meeting multiple language standards. Students will participate in this program for 21 days, completing a daily review of skills.
New Year's Around the World:
Students begin by reading an article about Dr. King, then watching short videos about his life. Students then take this information and create a banner with the information learned. This project is in Google Slides, so I suggest using this activity if you have Google accounts for your students and use Google Classroom.
After students complete the project, they can be printed to place on a bulletin board or in the hallway as a display for Martin Luther King Day.
Grammar Boot Camp:
Included in this packet are the following:
*A 21 page packet for students, each including 5 questions per day.
*25 posters on various grammar and writing skills and standards.
*Pre- and post- assessments
*Directions on how to print posters to use as interactive notebook pages for students.
This will take about 10-15 minutes per day during your ELA or writing block. This is meant to get students "in-shape" in terms of grammar and language standards.
This program is print and go, and super easy to follow. Students will learn the following skills/standards:
*parts of speech
*using a dictionary
*using a thesaurus
*compound and complex sentences
Thanks for looking and have a great back to school season!
