This is a research project for Martin Luther King, Jr. designed for a 3rd grade classroom. It could easily be adapted for a 2nd or 4th grade classroom. It includes suggested lesson plans, online resources, graphic organizers, and suggested book resources. It also includes a rubric to score final products. It is designed to be a unit based on questions the students have. Letting the students choose, or at least have a voice in, what they research will help encourage student engagement.
