Martin Luther King Jr - Timeline Activity

This activity is a great way to study Martin Luther King, Jr. and to learn about timelines. After learning about Martin Luther King Jr, divide students into groups. Each group gets an envelope with the events of MLK’s life in random order. The group works together to paste them on a piece of construction paper in chronological order. Once the events are sequenced, each student picks an event to illustrate on a separate sheet of construction paper. The colorful timelines look great on a bulletin board! It is a great activity that can be adjusted for 1st-3rd grade students. The product also includes a link to a video reading of the corresponding story.
