This is a bundle of several activities to use for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Black History Month or to use in a Civil Rights Movement unit.
Included you will find:
6 writing papers – These papers each contain a different quote. They ask the students to either respond to writing prompt or analyze the quote and apply it to their lives. Each paper has a picture of Dr. King and 21 lines to respond.
Civil Rights Vocabulary Activities – These activities are based around 15 key terms (Discrimination, Segregation, Boycott, Equality, Protest, Non-violent, Sit – in, Racism, Jim Crow Laws, Desegregation , Freedom, Civil Disobedience, Resistance, Freedom Rides, Integration).

16 Posters/Task Cards – with famous quotes from Dr. King. These are great to have students use as a warm up or quick write. These also work great as a literacy center.
Perfect World (writing and illustration) – In this activity students will read a quote from Dr. King about a world that he envisioned. They will then be asked to describe what their perfect world would look like. After writing their description, students will then illustrate their perfect world.
