This product contains excerpts from King's letter. I have selected excerpts that support an understanding of the philosophy behind King's movement as well as those that express his frustrations with the movement. The worksheet has nine question that support close reading of the document. Students are asked to answer the question and also provide the text where they found the answer. This forces students to paraphrase the information as well as gives them practice in finding supporting evidence, a skill utilized on the common core testing. At the end of the worksheet, students are asked to select and analyze two quotes.
