If you are at a Marzano school where you are required to create a deliberate practice plan, this can help make it easier on you!
I chose "Reflecting on Learning" for my plan, and decided to start with a reflective survey in which I had students self assess how much they actually think about school and what they are learning. There are questions specific to teaching ELA, but send me a quick note and I can send you the word doc instead so you can customize.
After the survey, I analyze the data and share it with my classes so they understand the "Why" behind the reflective log. I then have them reflect on each quiz or test they take. I also allow them to change their missed answers (with an explanation) for possible extra credit.
I also keep a reflective log just like theirs. We keep everything in a "Reflective Folder" (3 prong folder)
