Use this literacy resource as a way to teach vocabulary in your classroom with hardcore comprehension results. Go beyond just giving vocabulary and expecting students to learn the words for the upcoming quiz or test.
Marzano's vocabulary strategy is a 6 step process of teaching vocabulary that gives the students the needed information and then has them analyze it, apply it, discuss it, picture it, and use it with their peers through think-pair-share and games.
In addition to the How-To Quick Reference guide with all 6 steps and ideas for each, I have created a graphic organizer/worksheet printable that you can give to students which covers the first 5 steps of Marzano (the last one cannot really be put on paper).
In my classroom, I have had my students create foldables for their vocab.
