WHAT'S INCLUDED?

✅2 CAPACITY AND MASS MINI LESSONS

Students learn in the two mini-lesson or interactive notebook pages what liquid volume is in liters and milliliters and what different amounts are similar to. The same mini-lesson is done with mass as well in grams and kilograms.

✅10 CAPACITY AND MASS WORKSHEETS

In the ten worksheets included, students practice identifying mL and L, grams and kilograms, deciding which unit of measurement is appropriate for objects when determining volume or mass / weight, practice one step mass and volume word problems, examine beakers to decide the volume of two containers put together, and look at scales to determine which mass is larger.

✅2 REAL-LIFE ACTIVITIES

There are two real-life mass and volume activity worksheets. The two sheets are differentiated to allow you to provide your students with what they need most. Students can fill in their own items to determine the mass or volume of or you can give them the worksheet with the items already filled in.

✅BUILD A S'MORE GAME

Finally, there is a s'mores mass and volume game! My students LOVE this game! Students have to solve a game card that pertains to mass and volume. If they get the answer correct, they get to take a chance card. The chance card may help them build a s'more or it may have them help another player instead!

Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
