Mastering Mystery task cards created by Sharing Sharon
These task cards are fantastic to motivate students to research, think and investigate on their own. The way I like to use them is to set up a ranking system with each student's name and level.
The ranks are: Deputy, Commander, Superintendent, Inspector, Sergeant and Constable. But you can create your own ranks if you want.
Each student needs to complete 10 tasks in order to move up to the next rank. This really seems to motivate students to complete tasks. I never put a time frame on the assignments. It can be used as at home tasks, when finished work or morning busy work while the teacher is getting students settled.
There are 21 tasks in each category. The categories are Math, Language and World around You.
