This packet is from my READ TO LEARN series. A good story entertains, educates, and inspires! That is my goal with these books! And giving the students copies of the books to color, highlight words, etc. and take home to share with their families is an important step in the learning process.
"Mat and Tam" is based on the story of City Mouse, Country Mouse, and is full of opposites (15 pairs of opposite pairs in the story)! The mice in the story learn that the grass is NOT always greener on the other side!
Included in this fun packet are:
*An original song called "Read a Book"
*A letter to parents that teaches 12 reading strategies
*A classroom copy of "Mat and Tam"
*Comprehension questions for the story
*A master for small individual student books
If you are interested in more opposite activities, be sure to check out my Working Words packet on opposites.
I hope you enjoy these materials! Sheila
