Two Flyswatter (Matamoscas) boards are included here - one which focuses on soccer vocabulary and one which focuses on baseball, basketball and tennis. Project the image on your Smartboard, have students come to the board with flyswatters, call out a word and have them swat the correct image. First to swat the correct image earns a point. The difficulty is easily increased by giving clues in complete sentences instead of individual words. For alternative play and to practice speaking, put students in groups of 3-4 and give them a printout of the board. One student is the caller while the others race to touch the correct image first. Again, you can easily step up the difficulty by making the caller give clues to the words in Spanish. This is designed to go with the Asi se dice textbook (chapter 5), but is easily adapted to any sports unit.
