This is to practice saludos y despedidas. I have provided both English and Spanish versions.
My students love this game. Sometimes, I project the board on the screen and play with flyswatters. I don't always like playing that way, because it does not keep ALL students on task, especially while they are waiting their turn.
I prefer to play in teams. I print copies, put them in clear plastic covers and students play in groups of three. Two students play against each other while the third person serves as a judge/score keeper. The two competitors each have a different colored dry erase marker. I call out the word/phrase in English (or Spanish) and the first student to circle/mark/x the correct translation wins a point. The student with the most points at the end of the round wins.
The judge/score keeper rotates so that all students have a chance to play.
