You've never seen a PowerPoint do this! By using Visual Basic coding (see my product for learning to add VBA code in PowerPoint), this presentation becomes a fully functioning "stand alone" game. When used on a Smart Board students can interact with the game using the pen. The player chooses from 3 levels of play. A game board appears with 25 English words in 5 rows of 5 cards. A stack of corresponding Spanish cards appears in the left top corner. The player touches the Vocab card with the pen and then touches the matching card on the table. The card magically jumps in place on the table, and the student continues through the stack. Once all 25 cards are in place, he clicks the "Stop Game" button and his score and time are calculated. Students can play against each other, or in teams. And here's the really fun part - if you have a student who really knows the vocab, she can choose "Advanced" - but she better move fast. The board cards begin to fade away after several seconds. She must get all the cards on the table before any cards completely disappear. My classes really love this one and I even use it for quizzing or giving extra points. And another great thing - you can change the vocabulary words any time you like. Simply type in the 25 words you wish to use in the chart provided on a hidden slide. The game will generate the new words from your list. You can save the game after each change and have a game for every vocabulary section!
