This lesson is great at the beginning of the year (and have students work in groups) and as the year progresses, pull it out and use again (perhaps with groups, or eventually, individually). It is a great activity for the end of the year, too. You will be impressed how much the students have learned. What took more than 20 minutes at the beginning of the year now takes 10 minutes! Throughout the year, use this as a "filler" or "sponge activity."
Once, my principal unexpectedly visited my classroom while the students were working on one of my other Match-Up products- and he complimented me! I like this activity so much, I made several focusing on lit terms, poetry and more!
