Print and cut these pictures and words and lay them into two piles (one with the feeling words and one pile with the pictures). Have the students go through each pile and match the pictures with the feelings. This is great for students on the spectrum who have difficulty understanding feelings in themselves or in others. The feelings in this activity are: happy, sad, unsure, angry, nervous, grumpy, worried, scared, afraid, surprised, shocked, astonished, sleepy, tired, embarrassed, confused, content, hot, cold, overjoyed, excited, glad, overwhelmed, and shy. A key is also provided. Once the students have masted the feelings, they can then begin to take pictures or role play each emotion. The feeling words can be cut up and put into a bag for the students to pull out.
