❤ Multiplication & Repeated Addition with the Commutative Property
❤ Laminate the cards for durability.
❤ Sets 3 and 4 can be used as an extension for the first 2 sets.
❤ To make the activity even easier remove the center pieces from your set so there are only 2 pieces per puzzle. Students can use Repeated Addition Recording Sheets.
❤ Require students to fill out the recording sheet as they make matches. That way if they do not finish before center time is up, they will have a record of their work.
Ways to Use these Puzzles:
❤ Make even the same shaped piece puzzles a self checking center by putting a color line on the back of matching cards so that the cards that match have the same color line. After making matches students can turn over the pieces to check their work.
❤ Use the included recording sheets to hold students accountable during center time and check for their understanding.
❤ Use these puzzles to do an active full class activity. Select enough complete puzzles so each student can have one piece. If you have 24 students, you could use 12 2-piece puzzles or 8 3-piece puzzles. Pass out pieces and have students move around the room to find the students with a piece that matches up with theirs. If the number of students in your class is not divisible by 3, use a combination of 2 and 3 piece puzzles.
