Are you looking for an engaging way for your students to practice writing equations from word problems? These task cards will require them to do just that with these 16 multiple choice, test-prep style task cards.
These matching equations task cards include 16 problems that will help your students develop a deeper understanding of place value.
They are rigorous and common core aligned with 4th grade standards: 4.OA.A.2: “Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem, distinguishing multiplicative comparison from additive comparison” and 4.OA.A.3:
“Solve multistep word problems posed with whole numbers and having whole-number answers using the four operations, including problems in which remainders must be interpreted. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity.”
They will also work well with the 5th grade standard: 5.OA.A.2 and 6th grade standard: 6.EE.A.2.
** Students who have a working knowledge of the order operations may find the task cards easier, though this skill is not required to find the answer.**
