In this activity, students will match 15 inequalities to real-world phrases. For example, "There are fewer than 1,000 people on the island" and "x < 1,000" is a match. There are duplicate numbers in the set of cards so students really have to think about which inequality symbol represents each real-world phrase. There is a recording sheet available in this activity. This activity can be used in small groups, with partners, in a rotation, and more.
It is recommended to laminate the cards for repeated use.
