The focus of this activity is to give students the opportunity to check their understanding of different ways to represent the Transformation of the Quadratic Function. The following relationships are checked:
• Graphic Representation
• Rule in Vertex Form
• Rule in Standard Form
• Table of Values Representation
Each question consists of ONE SINGLE transformation.
Students in their groups will be given 7 mats. Each mat has a verbal description of the transformation of the quadratic function function, as an example, compressed by a factor of 5.
Students would have to find the graph, rule in vertex form, rule in standard form, and table of values representing such a relationship. (some cutting is required)
This products consists of 5 groups (7 mats per group). Students may rotate from their group to another when completing and checking their answers.
At the end of the matching game, an "Activity Handout" is given to students to check their understanding of the transformation of the quadratic function. This activity handout has questions regarding the matching done as well as some extensions.

This matching game could be done as soon as transformation is introduced as it allows the students to make the connection between the 4 representation of the quadratic function.
On a final note, I utilize the key points when teaching any of the parent functions, therefore, when transformation takes a place, I ask students to apply such transformation to the key points of the parent function. Therefore, students will apply the transformation either to the "x-coordinate" or the "y-coordinate" of the key points. Please check out the preview as I've included the answer key with this product.
