Matching Squares Template for Students - English - Students get double vocabulary practice with this puzzle because they first create it and then they solve it! For any unit, you can choose the words for them to use or let each individual student decide which words or phrases warrant more practice. Students write 18 different words / phrases on each line and related words / phrases directly across from them on the other side of the line. Creating the puzzle can be done as a class activity or a homework assignment. Assembling the puzzles in class can be done individually or with partners. Students love to compete to see who can complete the puzzle first! A small prize or a point of extra credit for the top 3 finishers is great incentive to complete the puzzle!
