These 20 slides show how math can be used in Social Studies. Each slide has the connection to Social Studies, a mathematics question connected to the information in the slide, the computations shown for teachers (and for students if necessary), engagement strategies for teachers, and extensions for students. The slides can be used as a hook to interest students in math and social studies or can be extended into mini-projects. Students can write about their musings from the slides in journals or discuss the information verbally. The math (and other content area material) involved is best suited for grades 6-12.
