This is a math task for students to complete involving two word problems with area. They must be able to come up with a solution, while showing their work. Then they must use complete sentences to explain how they came up with their solution. My students always have a difficult time putting their thinking into words. This comes with two different tasks.
One is a word problem asking if a man has enough tiles to cover his kitchen floor. The other word problem tells how many square foot tiles a man has and which of the 2 out of 3 rooms he has enough tiles for.
There is also a rubric which has student complete a self-assessment with future goals and a peer assessment.
