This packet includes an array match-up game, lego array activity and 2 worksheets (one for addition and one for multiplication).
The array match-up game needs to be cut out and may be laminated as it can be manipulated by students. It can be done in whole or small group settings. The game includes a card that has a picture of an array and a matching addition sentence. Mix them up and have students match the arrays with the correct addition sentence.
The lego array activity is best for students who need manipulatives. Lego pieces are arrays! Provide a pile of lego pieces for students to manipulate and then have students draw the array that they see on that piece. This is a great warm-up activity when you introduce arrays.
There are 2 worksheets that have students match the picture of the array with the corresponding addition sentence or multiplication sentence. I find these helpful because I can use the addition worksheet for my below or on level groups and the multiplication one for my above level group or as a supplement. These worksheets can be done in small group settings or independently.
