The first product from First Love! A simple place value chart template that can be used to help students solve math problems and modified to change the number of columns to fit the magnitude of the numbers your students are using. Just type in a math problem next to each chart and have students show their work on the chart using base-10 block drawings. I used this mainly for subtraction problems. Once students could use concrete base-10 blocks to solve subtraction problems, they transitioned to pictorial representations on the chart. I used it as a way to ensure that students understood what was actually happening when they regrouped using the traditional, "stack-'em-up" algorithm.
