Three fun math icebreaker activities are a great first day of school activities to get your students thinking about math while they get to know each other! These back to school math activities will make your planning so much easier.
Each student gets a card that contains a problem and a question. Students must find the other person whose problem has the same answer, the partners ask each other the questions on the cards. Then students find the category that fits their answers (such as multiples of 10, prime numbers, etc…).
Students have cards with numbers that form a pattern. Then students answer questions about their patterns.
In small groups, students put the numbers on the cards in order. Then smaller groups combine and put numbers in order.
