This activity is great for applying Orders of Operations skills. Students roll a die three times to come up with three numbers they can use to get a strike. The purpose of the activity is to come up with different orders of operation equations to "knock over" all the bowling pins. For example, a student rolls a 3, 6, 1. They can write 6x1/3=2. They would color in the number 2 circle. 1+6-3=4. They color in the number 4. Now they need to make equations with those three numbers to "knock out" the rest of the numbers 1,3,5,6,7,8,9 and 10. If they are unable to do so, they roll the dice three more times to come up with new numbers to get a spare. This is a fun review activity to do independently or with partners! Make it a contest to see who can get a strike the fastest!
