Cultivating Cues for Word Problems
Working on word problems? Need a visual reminder for your classroom? Looking for a bright and cheery math workstation? This clever bulletin board is the right choice!
This bulletin board contains 4 flower pots each with the name of an operation (add, subtract, multiply, divide). There are eight flowers to “fill” each flower pot. On each of these flowers is a word or phrase that cues students into what kind of action is needed in a word problem. Use as many or as few of the flowers as your students need. Consider adding them throughout the year or post them all and display them all year long.
The preview pictures shows a partial kit.
In addition to the flowers and pots, title letters are included that spell “Cultivating CUES for Word Problems”. These letters are meant to be printed in color, cut and displayed. In addition to the title letters, a single title sheet is included. This works best in places where you may not have much space for a display.
This bulletin board kit may also be used in a workstation. Have students sort the flowers into the matching pot.
