Do you need a math activity where students get up and walk around? Do your students enjoy working with a partner? Are students tired of worksheets? This math carousel game has students up walking around and solving math problems.
There are 12 pages with 2 cards on each page. Cut the cards apart to display around the room. You can tape each card on the wall or attach each card to construction paper and then tape them to the wall.
I usually space the cards around the room so that there are not a lot of students at one card. Number the cards 1 - 24. Students will number their sheet of notebook paper 1 - 24 so that they can write the answers.
There are times when I allow students to choose partner and then other times where I will choose. I then start one pair at #1, another pair starts at #2, another pair starts at #3, and so forth. All students complete all 24 problems. They just don't all start at #1.
When everyone is finished, we check answers. One great thing about this game/activity is that you don't make copies for each student. Another great thing is that you can use this activity more than once. Students don't realize that they are actually solving problems as if the activity were a worksheet.
