Have Fun Learning!

This is a great way to make learning fun! This product can be used as an assessment of 5.NF.1 or 4.NF.3a. Students will have fun working problems and then putting the puzzle together. They will not realize they are practicing and showing that they know how to add Fractions!

Adding Fractions becomes fun when there is a puzzle to figure out! Students cut their puzzle sheet into squares (31 problems and 20 squares) and work the problem out, showing their work in their journals. I always tell my students to write the answer right above the question. Students then find the puzzle pieces that match and then glue into their journals on the opposite side from where they worked the problem out. Differentiated for all learners! I have a blog post that explains how to use these Srambled Squares - Math Puzzles with plenty of student work pictures, www.teachingbythesea.blogspot.com.

No cutting for the teacher!

Included:
Four different puzzle sheets so groups will have different puzzles. Print in black and white and students can color in the letters and numbers if they finish before others.
I use journals as a record to show growth, but I have included a Student Response Sheet for teachers to use if needed.
Teacher Answer Sheet for all 4 Puzzle Sheets.
