This game helps students learn how to decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1). (Common Core)
Run on card stock and cut apart cards.
This math center was made to help students understand the meaning of equality. My students work this center in a group of 3. Using the numeral cards they find the equivalent of each number using the ten frame, counting frogs, dice, counting fingers, tally marks, addition and subtraction cards. When 1-10 are completed they then work individually by choosing a number and recording it and its equivalent operations on the recording sheet.
