In my classroom, we NEVER do whole group math! My students learn much better in smaller groups, and I group students according to their skill level. Each day, I have three centers. Students participate in 3 of 5 centers. All students meet with the teacher for one of their centers. The other centers are math by myself, math with someone, write about math, and math with technology. I have a board in my room with names for each center. I change the names daily based on what centers they will be completing each day. The centers change each day. Students copy down their centers on these forms each day during their morning work so they all don't have to run to the board to see their next center.
