How to Use
Just print out the center(s) you’d like to use, laminate the bowling sheet, copy the recording sheets, add mini bowling pins (available at the Dollar Tree or on Amazon) or small cups work as well, and you're ready to go!
These centers will require a short modeling lesson before your students get to work. For the bowl and count and bowl and tally centers, each roll students count what they knocked down each roll and then record it in the box. There will be a certain number of rolls until they’re done.
For the rest of the centers, students will roll until all of the boxes are fill, so the number of turns will vary.
For the addition and subtraction centers, students will roll, and then fill in each number into one square. So, if they knock over 3 pins, they will complete 3 equations. I recommend teaching them to write one number, then replace the pin, write the next number, replace the pin, and so forth. Then, before they roll again, complete their equations.
These centers work very well in partners, and are a great opportunity for students to practice taking turns.
