These centers can be used any time during the year, but they are perfect for the beginning of the year. They also align perfectly with the pacing guide that is found in my Math Planning Pack for 1st quarter. Most of the standards that are taught during 1st quarter are covered in these centers.

Flashcards - Practice addition facts within 10 using flashcards (2.OA.2)
Grab and Add - Grab two handfuls of objects out of a bag, then add the amounts together. All sums are within 10. (2.OA.2; 2.OA.3)
Number Lines - Spin to create a number line. Then select a number on the number line and write 3 equations about it; one +, one-, and one comparing. (2.OA.2; 2.NBT.4; 2.MD.6)
Add it Up - Create and use a number line to add two numbers together. (2.NBT.5; 2.MD.6)
Skip Counting - Create a two-digit number with a spinner. Then start at that number and skip county by 5s and 10s up to 100. (2.NBT.2; 2.NBT.8)
Skip Counting with Coins - Skip count with dimes and nickels up to $1. (2.NBT.2; 2.NBT.5; 2.MD.8)
Adding with the 100s Boards - #1 - Practice using the 100s Board to add. [Basic] (2.NBT.5)
Adding with the 100s Boards - #2 - Practice using the 100s Board to add numbers on the decade (+10, +20, +30…). [Basic] (2.NBT.5)
Adding with the 100s Boards - #3 - Practice using the 100s Board to add 2 two-digit numbers. [Advanced] (2.NBT.5)
Adding with My Fingers - Practice adding on (up to 10) using their fingers. (2.NBT.5)
What Time is it? - Spin to create a time to the hour and draw a clock showing the time. Add information about a related am or pm activity. (2.MD.7)
Find the Coin - Spin to select a coin, then grab all those coins out of a pile of coins. Add to find the total number of those coins found. (2.MD.8)
Roll, Draw & Compare - Roll die to create 2 two-digit numbers. Then compare the numbers using correct signs.(2.NBT.1; 2.NBT.3; 2.NBT.4)
Do it Different - Roll die to create a two-digit number. Then write it in standard form, word form, expanded form and as a picture using 10s and 1s. (2.NBT.1; 2.NBT.3)
