Math Common Core Review with Magic Squares is a fun, challenging way for students to review and practice Common Core math skills as they work to solve each puzzle. While made with fourth graders in mind, these magic squares can be used in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade.
The strategy for each puzzle is the same - cut out the 16 mixed-up smaller squares and reassemble the large 4 by 4 square so that all of the touching sides match.
Great for early finishers or for use as a math center, these magic square puzzles include a wide range of topics:
-expanded numerals / standard numerals
-computation for all operations
-mixed numerals / improper fractions
-adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators
-adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators
-fractions / decimals
When you unzip the files, you will have a pdf document with the mixed up squares and another pdf document that has the magic square answers and a blank magic square pattern for gluing the answers in place or for making your own puzzle.
