Students are challenged to think outside the standard 5 step method of problem solving (ie: 1. circle the key numbers, 2. underline the key word, 3. draw a picture, 4. write a number sentence, 5. write a word sentence) and need to listen to what the story is saying.
Students will use a slightly different method of answering:
1. Circle the first key number, draw a picture that matches
2. Circle the second key number, add to already existing drawing
3. Underline the key words
4. Write the number sentence
5. Write the word sentence
