Powers are very powerful! And can be a lot of fun. In this FIVE set bundle, the challenges are built around a different “Power Number.” This helps students understand how to combine scoring numbers to get close to a target number. For example, Power Number 27 challenges feature scoring numbers 3^3; Power Number 81 challenges use scoring number combinations 3^4 and 9^2.
Math Dice Challenges emphasize specific mathematical attributes and five sets of challenges and interactive solution presentations. This approach really helps students understand the underlying principles and reinforces basic math skills.
There’s no prep or work required and if you want to further advance your students’ math skills you can incorporate any of ThinkFun’s Math Dice games (sold separately in stores.)
Here’s how it works:
• Print pdf.
• Have students work independently or in small groups to solve the challenges.
• Show your students how you got the correct answer through the interactive solution presentations. Expect some oohing and aahing.
• Encourage discussion to help students better understand order of operations and powers.
• Have fun!
