Description
Provided is an introductory set of math challenges for children to solve. I have included one page from each of the 6 problem solving books. I have intentionally not used grades on any of the actual sheets to allow children to simply enjoy problem solving and not worry about what ‘level’ they are working at.
Each page includes a rating system for each problem to enable children to reflect on how hard a problem was and to give feedback for parents and teachers to ensure problems are matched to meet each child’s individual needs.
The problems also include a hint sheet for tips and an answer sheet to provide answers quickly and easily (giving more independence to children, and more flexibility for parents and teachers).
Problems can be used for in-class work, as homework, as a class or group task, or as enrichment for selected or all students. I have provided a variety of different types of challenges to encourage creative problem solving.
