This activity was designed as a collaboration activity between a first grade and second grade classroom. Teachers hid 96 easter eggs, which inside contained math facts. All addition and subtraction facts had an answer of 12, 13, or 14 which could be recorded in a tally graph. Students then collected six eggs (or pieces of data) and then turned their tally chart into a bar graph. After creating a bar graph, students wrote two sentences to analyze the chart.
In this download, you'll get the recording sheet used and template for the math facts inside the 96 easter eggs. This Microsoft Word document can easily be edited to cater the specific needs of your classroom. This activity can be easily adapted for sight words, letter identification, multiplication facts, etc.
