Get your kids excited about learning their math facts with fun math fact name tags! I created these name tags to help build fact fluency and prepare my students for multiplication assessments. This set of name tags includes 17 pages with basic math facts ranging from 2x1 through 12x12.
Prepare name tags by printing and cutting apart. Laminate if you prefer durability. Punch holes at the top of each tag and use yarn or lanyards to create a necklace.
When introducing this activity, inform students that they will no longer refer to their friends by their names that day. They must answer to and refer to their friends as the product of the factor pair on each students' tag. For example, "24, can you please pass the glue?" When calling on students in class, only refer to them as their product. The kids get such a kick out of it and even increase participation just to be called on by their number!
Make this activity more effective by assigning students facts that they are not yet fluent in. Circulate the room and quiz each student until you find a factor pair that best fits each students' needs. Why have them wear a tag with a fact that they have already mastered?! Facts will stick when they are being called by the factor pair's product all day long! You can even choose to have students switch tags at certain points of the day if you wish.
I hope you and your students enjoy.
